At Sudsy Paws Dog Grooming, our top priority is the safety and well being of your pet(s). Our goal is to make your pet's visit as enjoyable and stress free as possible.

Because your pet’s hair is tangled or matted, they are at greater risk of injury, stress and trauma. Sudsy Paws Dog Grooming will take all precautions necessary. However, removing the matting can cause; nicks, clipper irritation, itchy skin, redness, hot spots, cuts, sores, bruising or hematomas. Some of these issues can take several hours after the initial groom to appear. Matting can also expose unknown medical issues. 

Tight matting reduces blood flow to the affected areas and can be painful to your pet. Most of the time a short clipper blade is required to successfully remove the matting. This can sometimes affect your pet’s appearance if you are no use to seeing them with a short coat.   After removing the matts, the blood rushes back to the skin, this can cause your pet to act differently for a few days as they are feeling a strange sensation.

Every attempt will be made to minimize the stress of the grooming process for pets in the care of Sudsy Paws Dog Grooming, however problems occasionally arise when working with live animals. 

Initial the following:

● I Understand that pets who are matted or tangled have a greater chance of injury during grooming, I will not hold Sudsy Paws Dog Grooming responsible for any accidents or injuries, including possible reactions and irritations that may occur after or at home following the grooming process. X_______

● I understand that De-matting can often be painful and uncomfortable for pets, therefore Sudsy Paws Dog Grooming will do whatever is in the best interest of the animal, including but not limited to a complete shave down if necessary, and this could change the final grooming appearance. X_______ 

● I understand that If my pet becomes excessively stressed, is too aggressive, is in too much pain during the process of removing painful matts/tangles, or showing signs of medical compromise, the groomer will stop, and I, the owner, will be contacted immediately. X_______ 

● In the event that my pet requires immediate medical care. I hereby grant permission to Sudsy Paws Dog Grooming to obtain emergency veterinary treatment for my pet at my expense. X_______ 

● It is understood and agreed that payment is made in full at the end of the service even if the service cannot be fully completed. I understand that matted pets incur higher appointment fees due to the additional work that needs to occur, and the full price due can not be determined until the end of the service appointment. X_______ 

● I agree that if my pet has any reactions to the grooming process  I will do everything possible to prevent them from licking and irritating any injured, sensitive, itchy or red areas. I understand that any medical treatment needed due to my pet licking these areas,  is my responsibility. X_______ 

I Agree that I have carefully read and fully understood the information outlined in this release form. The terms have been explained to me and I am freely, knowingly and voluntarily entering into this Release.
